Sole Proprietorship

A Sole proprietorship is a business which is owned, managed and controlled by a single person. It is one of the most common form of business in India, utilized by small businesses operating in the unorganized sectors.

The sole proprietorship is not a legal entity. It simply refers to a person who owns the business and is personally responsible for its debts. A sole proprietorship can operate under the name of its owner or it can do business under a Trade Name. It does not create a legal entity separate from the sole proprietor owner.

To register a Sole Proprietorship, a Shops and Establishment Registration (Ghumasta) is required to be taken from the local Municipal Corporation. We also suggest to get Udyam Aadhaar (MSME) Registration as a second proof of business and to avail the MSME benefits
